The short version: DinnerPick does not collect or sell your personal information. Recipe data and preferences stay on your device. The app uses Google AdMob to show ads, which may collect limited advertising data as described below.
1. Who we are
DinnerPick is developed and published by NovaNexusVibe, an independent developer. You can reach us at NovaNexusVibe@gmail.com.
2. Information we do not collect
DinnerPick does not collect, transmit, or store any personally identifiable information on our servers. We do not have accounts, logins, or any registration process. We do not collect your name, email address, location, or device identifiers.
3. Data stored on your device
DinnerPick stores the following data locally on your device using AsyncStorage. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us:
- Your saved recipes and recipe library
- Your dietary preferences and allergy flags
- Your app settings
- Your high scores and run history for the in-app game (Don’t Get Cooked!)
This data is deleted when you uninstall the app.
4. Camera and photo library access
The “Scan My Fridge” feature requires camera and photo library access to photograph your ingredients. Photos you take or select are sent to a third-party AI service solely to identify ingredients and suggest recipes. Photos are not stored by us and are not used for any other purpose. You can decline camera permission and use the app’s other features without it.
5. Advertising (Google AdMob)
DinnerPick uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect and use data to serve personalized or non-personalized ads, including:
- Device identifiers (such as Android Advertising ID)
- IP address and general location
- App usage and interaction data
- Device type, OS version, and language settings
This data is collected and processed by Google, not by NovaNexusVibe. Google’s data practices are governed by the Google Privacy Policy. You can opt out of personalized advertising through your device’s advertising settings.
6. Third-party recipe data
Recipe suggestions are fetched from third-party recipe APIs (such as TheMealDB and Spoonacular). These services may log API requests, which could include your device’s IP address as part of standard server logging. We do not share any personal data with these services beyond what is inherent in a network request.
7. Children’s privacy
DinnerPick is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The in-app game (Don’t Get Cooked!) is intended for general audiences. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this app, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected here with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
9. Contact us
If you have any questions about this privacy policy or how DinnerPick handles data, please contact us at NovaNexusVibe@gmail.com.
